Superb Tongan Headrest
18th or early 19th century. Unusual "M" form and almost identical to the one collected in 1827 on the Voyage of Astrolabe from Dumont D'urville's expedition to Tonga. Of the early low architectural form. A masterpiece of Polynesian furniture.
